DAY 1: PUNO – UROS FLOATING ISLANDS – AMANTANI ISLAND (12,507 ft / 3,812 m)

EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF LAKE TITICACA WITH TRAVEL IN PERU AND DISCOVER THE AUTHENTICITY OF ITS ISLANDS, CULTURE, AND PEOPLE!

At 7:00 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel in Puno and transfer you to the pier to board the boat to the islands of Lake Titicaca. Our first stop will be the Uros Floating Islands, where you will learn how they were built on totora reeds and how their inhabitants live on the highest navigable lake in the world.
After a one-hour visit, we will continue to Amantani Island, enjoying the Andean landscapes during the journey. Upon arrival, local families will warmly welcome you and assign your accommodation. After a typical lunch, you can hike to the sacred Pachatata Mountain with our guide. In the evening, you may participate in a traditional festival with music and traditional costumes (optional activity). Dinner and overnight stay in a family home.

After breakfast, we will say goodbye to the host families and board the boat to Taquile Island (approximately 1 hour). Upon arrival, we will take a walk to the main square, enjoying stunning views of Lake Titicaca. You will learn about its ancestral traditions and visit craft shops showcasing textiles made by the locals, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Next, we will share a typical lunch prepared by a local family with lake views. In the afternoon, we will descend to the pier to board the return trip to Puno, arriving around 3:30 p.m., concluding an experience full of culture and living nature.
